In the Nakhon Pathom province of Thailand, the country's first robot police officer with artificial intelligence has been tested. According to Interesting Engineering, this modern device, named AI Police Cyborg 1.0, demonstrated its capabilities in ensuring safety during the Songkran festival.
The robot is equipped with a special camera and is connected to a video surveillance system installed throughout the province. It also receives data from drones in real-time, analyzes the situation on the streets, and transmits the collected information to the control center.
One of the robot's most important features is its ability to recognize human faces. It can quickly identify individuals belonging to dangerous groups or those who are wanted. Additionally, the robot can analyze people's appearance, height, gender, body structure, clothing, and even behavior.
If a fight or violence breaks out in public places, the AI Police Cyborg 1.0 promptly records it. The robot can easily distinguish dangerous items such as knives or sticks, but it does not consider toy guns used for water splashing during festivals as dangerous objects.
According to police representatives, this robot represents a new stage in ensuring safety. Because the robot can continuously monitor without feeling fatigue like humans. Its artificial intelligence is capable of responding to dangerous situations in an instant.
Such modern systems are also successfully operating in China. Robots in the country interact with people, answer their questions, and assist police patrols. One of these robots in China, the PM01 model, has been in service since December of last year. In March, the RT-G model from Logon Technology was tested, capable of moving at a speed of 35 kilometers per hour.
