It has become known that Arab countries officially condemning the war in the Gaza Strip have actively cooperated with Israel in the field of security in recent years. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to the American publication The Washington Post, citing its sources and obtained confidential documents, Israel along with Bahrain, Egypt, Jordan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates, with the support of the United States, established a new system called the “Regional Security Structure.”
Kuwait and Oman were considered potential future partners. The main task of this structure is to exchange intelligence information in the Middle East, coordinate the fight against missile and drone attacks, and develop a joint security strategy against Iran and groups close to it.
The documents describe Iran and its affiliated organizations as the “axis of evil.” According to The Washington Post, from 2022 to 2025, Israel and these countries held several secret meetings under the auspices of the U.S. Central Command in Bahrain, Egypt, Jordan, and Qatar.
Within the framework of cooperation, the participating countries created a unified defense system against Iran’s missiles and drones. Saudi Arabia played a key role in this process by providing intelligence information to Israel and other neighboring countries.
A document prepared in 2024 noted plans to establish a unified cybersecurity center in the Middle East by 2026. This center is expected to become a platform not only for information exchange but also for joint training exercises in cyber defense.
Additionally, in June 2023, commanders of Arab countries met with the head of the Israeli army’s general staff in Manama, the capital of Bahrain. Although official Arab states condemn the clashes in Gaza, in practice they have not severed ties with Tel Aviv.
Several international sources, including Axios, have emphasized that secret cooperation and dialogue continue. Germany’s Bild newspaper also reported that although Arab countries criticize Israel’s actions in Gaza, they support it in the fight against HAMAS.
At the Arab League and Organization of Islamic Cooperation meeting held in Saudi Arabia on November 11, 2023, a proposal to take practical measures against Israel for the victims in Gaza was rejected. While some Muslim countries proposed measures such as imposing an oil embargo, suspending diplomatic and economic relations, and restricting arms supplies, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, the UAE, Jordan, Bahrain, Sudan, and Djibouti did not support these ideas.
Thus, despite the official rhetoric of peace, secret security cooperation between Arab countries and Israel could fundamentally change regional politics.
