An earthquake of magnitude 6.1 occurred in Sındırgı
An earthquake with a magnitude of 6.1 occurred in the Sındırgı region of Turkey on October 27 at 22:48 local time. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to the Emergency Situations Department, the earthquake's epicenter was located at a depth of approximately 6 kilometers, and the tremors were felt in neighboring provinces as well.
Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya stated on social media that three buildings and one shop collapsed as a result of the earthquake. All people inside the buildings at the time were evacuated to safety promptly.
According to Health Minister Kemal Memişoğlu, 19 people were injured due to the incident. Most of the injuries were caused by panic or by jumping out of windows during the tremors.
Currently, four people have been discharged from the hospital, while the others remain in stable condition. Necessary assistance and inspection work are ongoing at the site of the incident.
Officials are urging the public to stay alert and be prepared for emergencies.
