China is reviewing the supply system of rare earth metals to the United States. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
This was reported by The Wall Street Journal. According to the new system, export procedures will be simplified, but US companies operating in the military sector will be excluded from this system.
According to the information, the Chinese government plans to supply rare earth metals only to US companies that use them for civilian purposes. Through this, Beijing aims, on one hand, to reach an agreement with Washington regarding resource supply, and on the other hand, to impose restrictions on industrial sectors related to the US military.
Journalists note that the new system will allow Chinese exporters to obtain licenses more quickly. This will enable China to balance economic relations and maintain its geopolitical influence.
It was also recalled that during the meeting between former US President Donald Trump and Chinese leader Xi Jinping on October 30, the US agreed to reduce certain tariffs for China, and China agreed to lift restrictions on rare earth metal exports.
