The Taliban movement in Pakistan has claimed responsibility for the explosion near the court building in Islamabad. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to AFP agency, at least 12 people were killed and 27 injured as a result of the incident. Taliban representatives stated that they targeted judicial system employees, including judges, lawyers, and other officials.
In their view, these individuals operate based on laws contrary to Islamic norms. Additionally, Taliban representatives emphasized that they will continue attacks until Sharia rules are fully implemented in the country.
The explosion occurred during the daytime. According to Pakistan's Ministry of Interior, the suicide attacker initially tried to enter the court building but was unsuccessful.
The explosive device detonated on the street near a police service vehicle. Earlier, the government had linked this incident to the Taliban movement.
However, the group leaders initially denied the accusations. Prior to this event, on November 10, another suicide terrorist attack occurred in northwestern Pakistan.
There, an armed group attempted to take military college cadets hostage, but security forces conducted an operation and managed to neutralize the attempt. The Taliban were also held responsible for this attack, but group representatives denied their involvement.
