An 85-year-old elderly man living in the western part of France unexpectedly traveled as far as Croatia, 1,500 kilometers away, when he set out to visit a doctor. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
The "Pravilamag" publication reported this. The man, who lives in the village of Chatillon-sur-Tue, had originally planned to go to the town of Erve, located 19 kilometers from his home.
However, the navigation system in his car — GPS — gave incorrect directions, forcing him to undertake a long journey across Europe. The elderly man traveled through the territories of France and Italy, driving nonstop for about 20 hours.
Upon reaching Croatian territory, he stopped at a hotel where he was found. The man's family realized he was missing several days later and contacted the police.
Government officials, with the help of military services, managed to determine his location through phone geolocation. Notably, the elderly man did not experience any health or memory problems.
He said he was also surprised by what happened and stated that he only followed the GPS instructions. Currently, his family is traveling to Croatia to bring him back home.
