The global coffee market has continued steady growth in recent years. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
However, coffee consumption habits vary significantly across countries. Especially in Northern European countries, coffee culture is deeply rooted, and this region has maintained its lead in per capita coffee consumption.
According to an infographic published by Cafely company, a ranking of 65 countries by daily per capita coffee consumption was compiled for 2025. This ranking clearly shows the large differences in global consumption habits.
According to the ranking results, Luxembourg took first place. In this country, 5.31 cups of coffee are consumed per person per day.
Such a high figure is explained by the country's high income levels and cross-border workforce. Nearly half of those working in Luxembourg live outside the country, so their coffee consumption is included in the overall statistics.
Northern European countries, particularly Finland and Sweden, also ranked highly. In these regions, coffee consumption is linked to historical traditions and the population's high purchasing power.
At the same time, countries with large populations such as the USA, Japan, and Brazil have relatively low per capita figures. For example, the USA ranked 24th with 1.22 cups per day, while Japan consumes less than one cup per day.
Countries with low coffee consumption mainly prefer tea. India recorded the lowest figure, with only 0.02 cups of coffee consumed per day.
Coffee consumption remains very low in African and South Asian countries as well. In conclusion, the infographic clearly shows significant differences between countries in coffee consumption.
While coffee has become an integral part of daily life in some countries, tea or local beverages still dominate in other regions. Nevertheless, the global coffee market continues to grow, and this trend is observed even in regions with low consumption levels.
