In this list, Atlanta—Hartsfield-Jackson Airport located in the state of Georgia, USA, once again took the lead. According to the results of 2024, this airport served more than 108 million passengers, achieving a record result.

Several factors contributed to Atlanta airport achieving such high results. Firstly, the airport is located within a 2–3 hour flight distance to 80 percent of the territory of the United States.

Additionally, direct flights are operated from this airport to 225 cities worldwide. Flights are available to all continents except Antarctica.

A large part of the airport traffic, approximately 85 percent, corresponds to domestic flights. Atlanta airport operates the world's largest automated baggage system.

Conveyors with a length of 100 kilometers have the capacity to sort 60,000 pieces of luggage per hour. Passengers move between terminals via the SkyTrain rapid transit train.

Dubai International Airport ranks second in the rating, serving 92.3 million passengers in 2024. Following are Dallas/Fort Worth Airport in the USA (85 million passengers), Tokyo's Haneda, and London's Heathrow airports.

The leadership in cargo transportation belongs to Hong Kong International Airport, which processed more than 5 million tons of cargo in one year.
