Staff at the famous Louvre Museum in Paris plan to strike demanding better working conditions. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
The "Le Monde" publication reported this. The strike is expected to begin on December 15 and may continue until management meets the workers' demands.
According to three major trade unions at the museum, the current working conditions at the Louvre are causing serious problems. Due to staff shortages, the museum halls are closing earlier than scheduled.
Additionally, the building's infrastructure is outdated, which hinders the work process. Some rooms regularly experience technical malfunctions.
The trade unions are demanding that management create new job positions at the museum and provide temporary staff with permanent contracts. However, there are reports that management plans to reduce the number of existing temporary employees.
The situation at the museum is also affecting visitors. The trade unions hope that negotiations will take place before the strike begins.
If negotiations do not occur, visitors to the Louvre may face a number of inconveniences. In recent months, the Louvre has encountered several serious problems.
In October, there were incidents of looting at the museum, and in November, hundreds of books in the library were damaged due to a pipe burst. The Campan Gallery halls were closed for safety reasons.
Such issues negatively impact the museum's daily operations.
