The Independent reported on this incident. According to local sources, the deceased Chaipxum Sae-eung's body was found leaning against a wall in his home.
Marks of biting and scratching by the monkey were found on his body. According to the details of the incident, the monkey had been aggressive towards the villagers, especially the deceased, for several weeks.
Prior to the incident, the monkey bit Sae-eung on the shoulder, causing severe injuries. The villagers said that due to the animal's aggressive behavior, one family was even forced to leave their home.
The deceased's body was found by his nephew, Pipat Sae-eung. He saw bloodstains near his uncle's body and a metal rod used for protection.
According to Pipat, the monkey bit and scratched various parts of the man, even tearing off part of his leg. The police who arrived at the scene investigated the situation.
It was determined that the monkey had climbed onto the roof of the house at the time of the incident. According to Mayor Jakkarin Laksanana, it was decided to shoot and kill the monkey to eliminate the threat.
Preliminary investigation results suggest that the deceased may have died 2-3 days prior. His body was sent to Betong Hospital to determine the cause of death.
