According to information provided by the Dutch police, a 34-year-old man managed to deceive banking systems using deepfake technology. During the investigation, it was revealed that the suspect gained the trust of citizens looking for rental housing and obtained copies of their passports.
Using these documents, he adapted the victims' facial features to himself with the help of artificial intelligence. It was then found that he easily passed the banks' selfie and biometric verification systems.
Through this method, the suspect succeeded in opening a total of 46 bank accounts. He is currently in custody, and a criminal case has been initiated against him.
A comprehensive investigation is underway regarding this case. Experts consider this incident a serious warning in the field of digital security.
