
The Chief of Staff of the Libyan Army, Muhammad Ali Ahmad Al-Haddad, along with four other individuals, died as a result of a plane crash that occurred in Turkey. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
The incident happened after a plane that took off from Ankara crashed near the village of Kesikkavak. Libyan Prime Minister Abdulhamid Dbeibah described the event as a “great loss.”
According to Turkey's Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya, the plane had departed from Esenboğa Airport in Ankara and lost radio contact after some time. Although the plane crew requested an emergency landing, communication was not restored.
The causes of the crash are currently unknown, and an investigation is ongoing. This information was officially provided by Turkey's Minister of Justice.
The Libyan government declared three days of national mourning in connection with this tragedy. During his visit to Turkey, Al-Haddad had meetings with the Defense Minister and other military leaders.
The incident occurred within the framework of cooperation between the two countries. Investigation results and further details of the incident are expected to be announced later.
