Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy provided information about Russia's new military tactics during a meeting of the supreme command headquarters last Friday. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to him, Russian forces are attempting to bypass Ukraine's drone defense systems by using Belarusian territory. The meeting discussed the drone threat, air defense measures, and the countermeasures being taken by Ukraine.
According to the President, Russian military personnel are carefully studying Ukraine's air defense systems and anti-drone technologies and are applying strategies to circumvent them. Ukrainian intelligence reports that some equipment is located in Belarusian territory, particularly near residential areas or even on top of residential buildings.
For example, antennas and communication devices for controlling drones have been installed on the roofs of five-story buildings. Zelenskiy emphasized that this situation endangers the safety of civilians and called on Minsk to stop such dangerous actions.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian Prime Minister Yuliya Sviridenko announced that the attacks carried out by Russia on the night of December 23 caused serious damage to the country's energy infrastructure. In particular, electricity supply was almost completely cut off in the Rivne, Ternopil, and Khmelnytskyi regions.
On December 25, Russian drones targeted a critical infrastructure facility in the Volyn region. Locomotives and freight cars were damaged at the Kovel railway station, and windows were broken in depot buildings due to explosions.
According to experts, Russia is attempting to disrupt logistics routes between Ukraine and Poland through this attack. Although Belarus is not directly involved in Russia's war against Ukraine at this time, Russia's use of Belarusian territory is causing concern.
For this reason, part of the Ukrainian forces has been deployed along the border with Belarus, which is placing additional pressure on the country's defense resources.
