A severe winter storm has been observed in the Northern European countries, significantly affecting the lives of the population. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
In Sweden, this storm named “Johannes” claimed the lives of two people. According to officials, one person died as a result of a falling tree, and another due to an accident that occurred during service.
Due to the storm, thousands of households in Sweden, Norway, and Finland were left without electricity. There were also serious disruptions in transportation: many trains, planes, and ferries were canceled.
Road traffic became difficult, and emergency services operated in an enhanced mode. In Finland, despite some planes veering off the runway at the airport due to strong winds, no casualties were reported.
Officials urged the public to exercise caution and recommended avoiding long trips until the weather improves. Efforts to eliminate the consequences of the storm are currently ongoing.
In the northern regions, warnings have been issued due to strong winds and cold, and the population is asked to follow safety measures.
