Is Navalny's death related to epibatidine?

The family members of the late Russian opposition figure Alexei Navalny announced that epibatidine was detected in the biological materials taken abroad after his death. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
Several independent laboratories analyzed these substances and reached the same conclusion. This was reported by “The Insider” publication.
It is reported that laboratories in the United Kingdom, Sweden, France, Germany, and the Netherlands examined Navalny's biological materials and plan to issue a joint statement on this matter at the Munich Security Conference. Epibatidine is a potent neurotoxin initially isolated from a species of tree frog in South America.
Later, this substance was also synthesized artificially. Epibatidine affects receptors in the nervous system, causing numbness, paralysis, and respiratory arrest in the body.
According to “The Insider,” the symptoms observed in Navalny correspond exactly to the effects of epibatidine. The resuscitation doctor who treated him, Alexander Polupan, also confirmed that the signs of poisoning matched those found in open sources.
In September 2025, Yulia Navalnaya announced that after her husband's death, she sent samples of biological materials collected by his team to foreign laboratories. Independent laboratories confirmed the likelihood of poisoning in these samples.
In her statement, Yulia Navalnaya emphasized that there is clear evidence of her husband's poisoning and demanded that those responsible be held accountable.
