A student who was not allowed to board the flight demanded compensation from 'Aeroflot' for damages
A lawsuit against the 'Aeroflot' airline by a student residing in Saint Petersburg was heard in court, resulting in a decision in his favor. This was reported by the press service of the city courts.

The incident is related to a flight that was supposed to operate on the Saint Petersburg—Istanbul route. A young man named Robert Puchkov, despite arriving on time for this flight to Turkey, was denied boarding by the airline staff. They justified this decision by stating that the student did not have the necessary documents to enter Turkey.

However, the student claims that he presented his passport and a residence permit intended for students, and also informed them that he was going to take an exam in Turkey. Despite having all the necessary documents, 'Aeroflot' refused to allow him to reach his intended destination.

In such a situation, the student had to urgently purchase a ticket for another route. He bought a new flight ticket for the Saint Petersburg—Dubai—Istanbul route and eventually reached his destination. However, this caused additional time and expenses.

For this reason, Robert Puchkov filed a lawsuit against the airline seeking compensation for material and moral damages. He demanded 121 thousand rubles (approximately 1500 US dollars) in compensation in his claim. This amount included the price of the ticket purchased for the direct flight, the costs of the additional ticket for the other route, payments for taxi services, and moral damages.

The court partially granted the student's claim, ruling that Puchkov should receive 34.7 thousand rubles for the flight ticket, a total of 68.9 thousand rubles for additional expenses, and 5 thousand rubles for moral damages. Additionally, 'Aeroflot' was found liable to pay a fine of 54 thousand rubles.

This incident attracted public attention and once again highlighted the importance of respecting passenger rights by airlines.
