Olympic champion Daniyar Yeleusinov detained for drunk driving

Famous Kazakh boxer and Olympic Games winner Daniyar Yeleusinov has been held administratively liable for gross violation of traffic rules. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
The athlete was found guilty of driving under the influence and causing a road traffic accident. According to the court decision, he was sentenced to twenty days of detention and deprived of his driving license for a long period.
The unpleasant incident occurred in the city of Astana. According to reports, two consecutive collisions occurred involving a Toyota Land Cruiser.
Following this, the driver fled the scene. As a result of rapid search operations carried out by law enforcement officers, the location of the vehicle was identified, and the offender was apprehended on one of the city streets.
Fortunately, no one suffered physical injuries as a result of these events. In the initial stage, police officers did not officially disclose the identity of the detained person.
However, officials strictly emphasized that the law is equal for everyone, and a person's position in society or achievements in sports will not save them from liability. In a subsequent court hearing, it was confirmed that the Olympic champion Daniyar Yeleusinov was indeed behind the wheel.
A case was initiated against the athlete under the clauses of driving while intoxicated and leaving the scene of an accident. During the trial, the boxer fully admitted his guilt and expressed deep regret for his actions.
The court panel announced the final verdict, taking into account that he had not committed such offenses previously. According to the ruling, Daniyar Yeleusinov is to serve a twenty-day detention sentence and is deprived of the right to drive any vehicle for the next seven years.
Currently, the court decision has entered into legal force and is being implemented.
