Uzbek driver involved in car accident in US, young footballer killed

In the United States, a tragic road accident involving 42-year-old Uzbek truck driver Behzod Asrorov drew widespread public attention. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
As a result of the incident, 21-year-old talented goalkeeper of the University of Massachusetts football team tragically lost his life. Currently, serious accusations are being brought against our compatriot, and investigative actions are underway.
According to the investigation findings, Behzod Asrorov’s truck collided with a passenger vehicle in which the athlete was traveling. Due to the strong impact, the truck veered into the opposite lane and collided with several other vehicles.
Unfortunately, the young footballer died at the scene due to the severe injuries sustained. This situation caused a major resonance in the United States.
As it turned out, Asrorov obtained a green card in 2024 and moved to the United States. Due to his insufficient command of the English language, police officers who arrived at the scene were forced to communicate with him through special online translation applications.
This circumstance sparked new debates in the country regarding the language proficiency requirements and safety standards for foreign drivers. Law enforcement agencies accuse the driver of deliberately destroying evidence.
According to investigators, after the accident, the video recorder in the truck was torn out, three mobile communication devices were destroyed, and the electronic log tracking the driver’s working hours was removed from operation. Specialists assess these actions as an attempt to conceal the actual condition of the truck prior to the accident.
Currently, charges of manslaughter through negligence and falsification of evidence have been brought against Behzod Asrorov. Although the court proceedings have not yet concluded, this incident has already sparked discussions at the political level.
The U.S. Secretary of Transportation has raised the issue of imposing restrictions on commercial vehicle operation for drivers who do not know English. At present, this case may serve as a catalyst for further strengthening road safety regulations in the country.
