Unique ancient cemeteries from the Stone Age were found in Kostanay

In the Kostanay region of Kazakhstan, archaeologists have discovered unique burial sites dating back to the stone age. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
Members of the expedition of the Kostanay Regional University named after Ahmad Boytursinov identified three ancient tombs dating from the eighth and fifth millennia BCE in the area of the Shili archaeological monument in the Ovulko'l district. The Kazinform agency provided detailed information about this important discovery.
According to the researchers, these finds belong to the ancient Mahanjar culture and were discovered from under the floors of residential buildings of that era. As a result of the excavations, the skeletal remains of one child and two elderly individuals were extracted.
Specialists particularly noted that such ancient burials are rarely encountered. According to archaeologist Irina Shevnina, this discovery is of great scientific importance not only for the Kostanay region but for the entire field of archaeology in Kazakhstan.
During the expedition, not only human remains but also tools made of stone and bone, fragments of shell dishes, and various ancient ornamental items were discovered. Currently, scientists continue to study the remains of semi-round houses associated with the Mahanjar culture.
The custom of burying ancient people under the floors of their homes is considered one of the unique traditions of some Neolithic cultures of Central Asia. With the new discoveries, scientists aim to gain broader information about the lifestyle, religious views, customs, and social structure of the people of that period.
At the same time, intensive scientific research is continuing in the area. Specialists are conducting thorough laboratory analyses of the discovered artifacts and human remains to determine their exact age and historical significance.
These studies are expected to play an important role in illuminating humanity's distant past.
