Abu Dhabi is building a $1.1 billion artificial island

The capital of the United Arab Emirates is constructing project on Fahid aimed at restoring people’s physical and mental health. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
The modern complex is expected to be fully operational by 2029. As part of the project, more than six thousand residential units are planned to be built, according to influential publications.
The project, valued at approximately eleven billion dollars, is being implemented by Aldar Development, a company affiliated with the Abu Dhabi government. According to company representatives, every architectural solution and infrastructure element and all infrastructure has been carefully developed based on the principle of positively impacting human health.
Experts believe that spacious green areas and comfortable conditions for pedestrians will have a positive effect on residents’ mental well-being. For this reason, a vast park stretching ten kilometers in length runs through the central part of Fahid Island.
Here, jogging and cycling paths, as well as cultural recreation centers, will be organized. On the island, which covers an area of more than two and a half million square meters, various types of housing will be constructed.
These range from modern apartments to luxurious villas. The starting price for housing is expected to be from half a million dollars.
One of the unique features of the project is that a significant portion of the island’s roads will be elevated and shaded, allowing pedestrians to move comfortably even in hot climate conditions.
Additionally, international educational institutions will operate on the island. In particular, a branch of one of the United Kingdom’s renowned schools is expected to open.
This educational facility will become the first institution in the world to receive accreditation under the Healthy Buildings certification system. Fahid Island itself has also been rated highly under this international system.
Achieving this result was made possible by prioritizing factors such as physical activity, proper nutrition, and mental well-being. According to the project’s creators, true health is not limited to sports facilities alone, but rather involves creating an environment where people can consistently make healthy choices in their daily lives.
In the future, similar large-scale urban development projects are planned to be implemented in the region.
