Electric vehicle sales in Uzbekistan doubled in one year

In recent years, the Uzbek automobile market has seen a surge in electric vehicle adoption. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
Growing interest and demand for eco-friendly transport in our country are reflected in the statistics. According to the latest data from the Center for Economic Research and Reforms, a total of 8,100 electric vehicles were sold nationwide in April of this year.
This figure indicates that the market volume has nearly doubled compared to the same period last year. Analysts say the electric vehicle segment has become one of the most dynamic and promising areas of development in the passenger car market today.
This trend is driven not only by economic factors but also by public interest in modern technologies and the incentives provided by the state. The bulk of sales are concentrated in the capital.
In Tashkent alone, over 5,560 electric vehicles found buyers in just one month, accounting for nearly 70% of the country’s total market. The development and strengthening of charging infrastructure are further boosting demand for such transport in the capital.
Looking at the regions, Tashkent Region ranked second with 573 units sold, while Fergana Region saw 464 electric vehicles purchased. Overall, positive growth rates were observed in nearly all regions.
However, in some areas, the situation differs. Notably, in Samarkand Region, trading activity declined by 34% compared to the previous year.
Despite this, the process of electrification continues uninterrupted across the country, and these indicators are expected to rise further in the future.
