Ponomaryov: Criticism of referees in the Russian championship

Former CSKA defender Vladimir Ponomaryov criticized the refereeing style in the Russian championship matches, including the match between CSKA and Orenburg. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.

In his opinion, assistant referees should immediately signal offside situations; allowing the game to continue and finishing the play is incorrect. According to Ponomaryov, players are running and moving, but they get injured during the process of continuing the game.

This issue needs to be seriously addressed. He emphasized that assistant referees should be dismissed, as ultimately the VAR system will review the incident.

These remarks were made on the "Match TV" channel. The game between Orenburg and CSKA ended in a 0:0 draw.

According to the rules, referees allow the game to continue when offside is suspected, if the situation could lead to a goal, and then a video review is conducted.
