Former USSR and Russia national team midfielder Aleksandr Mostovoy answered a question posed by the artificial intelligence Chat GPT in an interview with the website "Euro-Futbol.Ru". This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
The inquiry from the artificial intelligence was: “Currently, 18-year-old Lamin Yamal is shining in Europe, and there have been talented young footballers in the past. Why are there so few talented players in Russia?” Mostovoy considers the question to be good and emphasized that it is possible to cite not just one player, but dozens of young footballers as examples.
However, they quickly fade away, and their rise to stardom does not last long. A player can become a star at the European level by the age of 20.
Regarding the lack of such players in Russia, he mentioned that he has heard many explanations over the last twenty years. He emphasized that he is not a decision-maker in the football field and pointed out that there is a wrong attitude among players and instances of overestimating themselves.
Often, at the age of 20, they are elevated to a very high level, but by the age of 25, their careers end or they play in lower leagues. This situation arises from the weak attitude of players towards football.
Football is in third place in their lives, whereas it should actually be in first place. Every player must expend all their efforts to improve their skills.
Success can be achieved on this basis. Otherwise, there are many cases of achieving success only in the short term, followed by a halt in their careers.
