The Ukrainian "Alexandria" club addressed its fans after the first match against the Serbian "Partizan" club in the second qualifying round of the Conference League. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
It was noted that during the match, fans of the Ukrainian team chanted offensive slogans against the Serbs and Russians. In particular, "Partizan's" friendly club CSKA came under serious criticism.
Calls for violence against the Serbs were also heard in the stadium. In the club's statement, they thanked the fans for their amazing support shown at the Katowice arena.
Your voice, your flags, and your trust in the team have been a great source of inspiration for our boys. Together we are strong!
You are our tenth player, and your presence is not only support but also proof that "Alexandria" has a big heart and a reliable football family throughout Europe, it was emphasized. Due to military actions in Ukraine, clubs from this country are forced to hold their home matches in neutral venues, including Poland.
The match ended with "Partizan" winning 2:0. The return match will take place on July 31 in Belgrade.
