The head coach of the Cameroon national football team, Mark Bris, denied reports about his resignation. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
ESPN reported that on July 21, Bris informed the Ministry of Sports and the local football federation via email about his intention to leave his position.
The reason cited was the delay in the payment of his salary for two months. Later reports indicated that Bris is staying in his position, as it was discovered that his email had been hacked.
The Ministry of Sports commented on the situation, denying Bris's statement. The federation has not yet provided any comments on this matter.
Previously, there were discussions within the federation's leadership about finding a suitable replacement for Bris. It should be noted that the relationship between Bris and federation president Samuel Eto’o is not good.
However, since the appointment and funding of the head coach fall under the Ministry of Sports, Eto’o is forced to oppose him.
