The chairman of the board of the Zenit football club, Alexander Medvedev, commented on the likelihood of the St. Petersburg team acquiring new players before the transfer window closes. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
According to him, a final decision on transfers has not yet been made. Alexander Medvedev stated that there is still time, so it is too early to say that no other new players will arrive.
Currently, two new players have joined Zenit. They are Argentine defender Roman Vega and midfielder Jerson Santos.
Roman Vega was acquired from the Argentinos Juniors club, while Jerson Santos was bought from Brazil's Flamengo team. The transfer window in Russia will close on September 11.
At present, Zenit is in sixth place in the Russian Premier League standings, having accumulated four points.
The club is striving to improve its results throughout the season. More new players may join before the transfer window closes.
