Naumov: Lokomotiv is not ready for the championship this season

Former president of the “Lokomotiv” football club Nikolay Naumov assessed the chances of the capital team in the fight for gold medals in the current season of the Russian Premier League. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.

According to Naumov, “Lokomotiv” may not be able to show stable performance this season. He stated that it is natural to have some losses since the team is still forming and consists of young players.

For this reason, Naumov believes that “Lokomotiv” is not ready to compete for the championship this season. For reference, last season “Lokomotiv” finished in sixth place in the Premier League.

Currently, under the leadership of head coach Mikhail Galaktionov, the team is in first place in the championship with six points. Additionally, yesterday, on July 30, “Lokomotiv” lost to CSKA Moscow in the Russian Cup with a score of 1:2.

This result may serve as a basis for drawing certain conclusions about the current state and capabilities of the team. At the same time, “Lokomotiv” will try to strengthen its game in the upcoming matches.
