Former Germany national team and Bayern Munich goalkeeper Oliver Kahn shared his thoughts on the current situation in the Bundesliga. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
In his interview, Oliver Kahn emphasized that competition in the Bundesliga used to be much stronger. According to him, in the past, more teams fought for the championship, and the competition was more open.
Now, it is difficult to call the Bundesliga the "most honest" competition. Kahn pointed out the significant disparity in financial capabilities between teams.
He stated that it is unfair for one team's budget to be 30 or 40 million euros while another team's budget reaches 300 million euros. This situation weakens competition in the championship and also affects the results.
Oliver Kahn also noted that this disparity is increasing every year. In his opinion, clubs earn additional revenue through major tournaments like the World Cup, and this gap deepens further.
For this reason, he stressed the need to ensure financial equality to restore balance in the Bundesliga.
