The chairman of the "Zenit" football club, Alexander Medvedev, expressed his opinion regarding the insulting words being said about the team in stadiums. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
Recently, shouts of "Zenit is the disgrace of Russian football" have been frequently heard in the country's stadiums. Alexander Medvedev, commenting on this situation, noted that such actions by some remind him of the fable "The Elephant and the Pug" by the famous Russian writer Krylov.
According to him, such inappropriate remarks in the football environment are a disrespect to the sport and the club. It is worth noting that "Zenit" faced Moscow's CSKA team in the third round of the Russian championship, and the match ended in a 1:1 draw.
The team, led by Sergey Semak, currently has five points. In the next round, "Zenit" will play away against the "Akhmat" club.
The club's management emphasizes that the team strives to conduct each match at a high level and approaches any criticism from fans in a professional manner. The "Zenit" club has set high goals for its players and coaching staff, and they are working to please their fans in every competition.
