Former president of the Moscow "Lokomotiv" football club, Olga Smorodskaya, shared her thoughts on the upcoming friendly matches of the Russian national team. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
According to her, the Russian national team will play matches against the teams of Jordan and Qatar. Smorodskaya stated that although these games may not fully replace proper sports training, they will bring certain benefits to the team.
She also emphasized the necessity of game practice for the team and mentioned that they need to play against anyone. In an interview with the "Match TV" channel, Smorodskaya specifically noted that due to the Russian national team being distanced from official competitions, any game holds significant importance.
The friendly matches against the teams of Jordan and Qatar will take place on September 4 and 7, respectively. For reference, since February 2022, the Russian national team has been deprived of the right to participate in international competitions.
Therefore, the friendly matches have become the only official game practice for the team.
