Former Soviet Union national team and former CSKA Moscow player Vladimir Ponomaryov expressed his opinion about Zenit St. Petersburg midfielder Maksim Glushenkov. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
He emphasized that previously, if a player could not make it to the main squad and started forming different groups within the team, they were excluded from the team. Ponomaryov recommended to the Zenit management that if Glushenkov continues to behave this way, he should be moved to the bench and sold.
For reference, Maksim Glushenkov joined the Zenit team at the beginning of last season and initially stood out with his high-level play and effectiveness. However, after suffering two consecutive injuries, his performance declined.
Media reports have also circulated about a conflict between Glushenkov and head coach Sergey Semak. Currently, the club management is considering ways to resolve this issue.
For this reason, Glushenkov's future in the team remains uncertain.
