The head coach of the capital's "Spartak" team, Dejan Stankovich, responded to a question about Markinyos's early substitution in the derby. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
According to him, the Brazilian forward started in the main lineup against "Lokomotiv" in the fourth round of the Russian championship but was substituted in the 57th minute. Stankovich noted that the player had recently returned from injury and had missed almost a week of training.
For this reason, the coaching staff decided to substitute him after consulting with the player. Stankovich specifically acknowledged Markinyos's determination, noting that he had been active on the field for 55 minutes.
It is worth mentioning that the capital derby ended in a 2:4 defeat for "Spartak" away. As a result of this match, "Spartak" lost points and fell back in the tournament standings.
The coach emphasized that the player's health and the team's interests were prioritized. Markinyos is expected to fully recover and assist the team in upcoming matches.
