Russian coach Igor Osinkin expressed his opinion on the likelihood of an increase in the legionnaire limit in the Russian Premier League. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
According to him, the legionnaire limit mainly concerns three to four clubs. Considering the new conditions, all clubs will be able to adapt to these changes.
Osinkin stated that the introduction of a new legionnaire limit will not result in significant losses for Russian football. For reference, the updated legionnaire limit rules will be close to the "10+5" format.
According to this format, clubs can have 10 foreign players on their roster, but only 5 legionnaires can be on the field at the same time. Currently, the regulation of the Russian Premier League operates under the "13+8" formula.
This means that each club can have 13 foreign players in its squad, with 8 of them being able to take the field simultaneously. If the new rules are approved, the number of legionnaires and their participation on the field will be further restricted.
It is currently unknown how these changes will affect the development of Russian football. At the same time, experts are confident that all clubs will adapt to the new regulations.
