According to Leonid Tufrin, the former president of the St. Petersburg "Zenit" club, the transfer of Russian football players to this club is not beneficial for them. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
He emphasized that local players included in the "Zenit" squad often remain on the bench and as a result, lose their game. For example, according to Tufrin, the team's head coach Semak is mainly forcing Glushenkov to sit on the bench.
For this reason, many Russian football players playing for "Zenit" are unable to showcase their skills. After moving to other clubs, they manage to regain their game and start showing good results.
Tufrin illustrated this situation with the examples of Sergeev, Krugovoy, and other players. It is worth noting that "Zenit" is having an unsuccessful start to the new season.
In the first four rounds of the Russian Premier League, the team has only accumulated four points. In the upcoming fifth round, "Zenit" will play against Moscow's "Spartak."
Notably, "Spartak" has also started the new season with difficulties and is currently among the clubs facing a crisis. Therefore, this match is of significant importance for both teams.
