PSG football club defender Achraf Hakimi attempted to remove some of his words from an interview with the French channel Canal Plus. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
The club management was dissatisfied with Hakimi's statement that he considered himself worthy of the "Ballon d'Or" award. In the interview, the footballer mentioned that he scored goals in the quarter-finals, semi-finals, and finals, and despite playing in the defense line, he deserves this award.
PSG is currently helping forward Ousmane Dembélé to win the award. At the same time, he expressed that he would not be against another player in the team receiving the "Ballon d'Or."
However, Hakimi's words were deemed controversial and problematic by the club. The attempt to alter the content of the interview ended unsuccessfully, as Hakimi firmly opposed it.
He emphasized that he has every right to express his opinion openly. Club representatives noted that the situation did not negatively affect the team environment.
Thus, Hakimi stood firm in his position, and no issues arose within the team.
