Ajaccio football club has been banned from all competitions organized by the French Football Federation. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
Local media are reporting on this matter. The club represents the island of Corsica and has participated in several seasons in the top division of French football during its history.
However, the club has never been able to rise above sixth place. Last season, Ajaccio finished twelfth in the second league of the French championship.
However, due to financial problems, the team has been relegated to a lower division. The club's troubles did not end there.
Due to a debt of 13 million euros, the team will start the new season at an even lower level – in the regional division. This division is considered outside of professional football competitions.
Nevertheless, the club has the right to appeal the decision made by the French Football Federation. This situation has created serious difficulties for the club, and its future remains uncertain for now.
