
The Russian national football team congratulated Matvey Safonov, the goalkeeper of Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), on winning the UEFA Super Cup. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
It is known that in the final match of this competition, the PSG team faced London’s Tottenham. The regular time of the match ended with a score of 2:2.
The winner was determined in the penalty shootout, where PSG players were more accurate in their shots against their opponents and celebrated victory. Safonov remained on the bench throughout the match and did not enter the field.
The goal for PSG was defended by the team's new member, Luka Chevalier. Nevertheless, this was Safonov's fifth trophy with the club.
The press service of the Russian national team issued a statement regarding this event and congratulated Safonov. They emphasized that Safonov's achievements are a proud result for the country's football.
Thus, PSG secured the UEFA Super Cup, and Safonov, along with his teammates, claimed another major trophy.
