Former Manchester United striker Rooney confirmed this and joked about Phil Neville. Rooney said on BBC's Match of the Day program: "Yes, we talked.
Jack is a fantastic player and we joked about the number 18. Unfortunately, Phil Neville also wore that number." In the Premier League opening round, Everton will play away against Leeds.
The match will take place on Monday, August 18. Grealish explained the reason for choosing the number in the team as follows: "I spoke with Rooney."
