Former footballer Zelimkhan Bakaev, who played for Saint Petersburg's Zenit and the capital's Spartak teams, shared his thoughts on the current situation of Russia's midfielder Maksim Glushenkov. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
He emphasized that the playing style at Zenit is unique. He said it is difficult for such unconventional players to showcase themselves.
“Because there is little room for creativity within the Zenit system, Glushenkov is unable to fully express himself,” Bakaev said in an interview with Sport24. In recent matches, Maksim Glushenkov has not been able to secure a regular spot in the team.
He has appeared in five games for Zenit but has not recorded any goals or assists. After four rounds of the Russian Premier League, the team led by Sergey Semak is in eighth place in the competition table.
This situation indicates the need for additional efforts to improve the team's overall results. It is important for Glushenkov to strengthen his position in the game and bring more benefit to the team.
