Tukmanov: Kononov is not a super talented coach

Aleksandr Tukmanov, an expert who served as vice-president of the Russian Football Union, emphasized that Oleg Kononov's resignation as head coach of the "Torpedo" team is justified from the results perspective. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.

However, he does not consider the coach responsible for the team's failure. According to Tukmanov, Kononov is a polite and qualified specialist; he is not a super talented coach, but he is a sufficiently good specialist for "Torpedo".

On Friday, the club announced that the contract with the coach was terminated by mutual agreement of the parties. After the fourth round of the First League competition, the "Torpedo" team is at the bottom of the standings with one point.

It should be recalled that although this team earned the right to participate in the Russian Premier League for the 2025/26 season, it was relegated from the championship and moved to the First League.
