Emmanuel Peti: “PSG was a symbol of pride, everything changed when Enrique came”
The legend of French football, former Arsenal midfielder Emmanuel Peti openly expressed his attitude towards the PSG team. According to him, the spirit of pride and individualism that characterized the club in the past is now being filled with teamwork and dedication — which is related to Luis Enrique's potential.
"I was not a fan of Luis Enrique. I spent a year with him at Barselona. But now, watching what he is doing at PSG, I am truly amazed," Peti said in his interview.
He emphasized that PSG used to feel like a team that brought not joy, but rather spiritual discomfort. "From the time Ibrahimovic was in the team, their behavior and the signals they were sending out hurt me. It was as if they were saying, ‘We have money, we will buy everything.’ So much so that I would turn off the television," he said.
Peti believes that football is not only about individual skill but also a game based on collective unity. "Every player must know their role clearly. Rules must be followed. If egomania prevails over any other feelings, then the atmosphere within the entire team deteriorates," Peti noted.
Special recognition was given to Luis Enrique, who is currently serving as the head coach of PSG. Peti considers his not only tactical knowledge but also psychological approach and contribution to improving the team environment to be particularly commendable.
"He does not hesitate to smile, behaves like an ordinary person. He even tries to speak in French.
