AFA President Tapia Suspected in Financial Investigation

The president of the Argentine Football Association (AFA), Claudio Tapia, was summoned for questioning as part of an investigation into unpaid social contributions. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
This information was reported by the publication "Euro-football.ru". During the investigation, the organization's treasurer, Pablo Tovigino, was also named as a suspect alongside Tapia.
Law enforcement agencies have banned both individuals from leaving the country. The interrogation regarding this case is scheduled for March 5.
According to the investigation materials, a shortfall of 13 million dollars was identified concerning social contributions that AFA was supposed to pay to the state treasury. Additionally, the prosecutor's office is examining a 10-hectare land plot and a helipad on it, which are said to belong to Tapia.
Furthermore, investigators are also studying the discrepancies between the bonus payments allocated to players and Tapia's international flight expenses. Additional information on these matters is expected to emerge during the ongoing investigation.
