AFA President Claudio Tapia summoned for investigation

Claudio Tapia, president of the Argentine Football Association (AFA), was summoned by the prosecutor's office for questioning as part of an investigation into unpaid social contributions. This was reported by Zamin.uz.

The investigative authorities have banned both officials from leaving the country. According to investigation data, a shortfall of 13 million dollars was identified regarding social contributions that AFA was supposed to pay to the state treasury.
At the same time, a 10-hectare estate belonging to Claudio Tapia, which includes a helicopter pad, is also under suspicion. The prosecutor's office is also paying special attention to the amount of bonuses given to players.
According to information, these bonuses were even less than the expenses incurred by Tapia for international flights. The questioning on this matter is scheduled to take place on March 5.
