AFA president Claudio Tapia was summoned for investigation

The president of the Argentine Football Association (AFA), Claudio Tapia, was summoned by the prosecutor's office for questioning due to his involvement in an investigation regarding unpaid social contributions. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
This was reported by euro-football.ru. Within the scope of this case, AFA treasurer Pablo Tovigino is also participating in the investigation.
Law enforcement authorities have temporarily banned Tapia and Tovigino from leaving the country. The investigation process will take place on March 5.
This case began after it was discovered that the AFA had failed to make payments amounting to 13 million dollars to the state budget as social contributions. Investigators are also examining a 10-hectare estate registered as Claudio Tapia's property, including a helicopter landing pad on the premises.
The prosecutor's office is also paying attention to the amount of bonus payments given to players. It has been specifically noted that the bonus sums are less than the expenses incurred for Tapia's international flights.
