Argentina championship stopped due to corruption scandal

The Argentine football championship will take a one-week break, with the matches of the 9th round planned to be held later. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
This decision was caused by a scandal related to corruption surrounding the local football federation. This situation was reported by euro-football.ru.
It is noted that the matches of the 7th and 8th rounds will be held according to the scheduled timetable, but the break coincides exactly with the games of the 9th round. These round matches were initially planned to take place from March 5 to 8.
However, on March 5, the president of the Argentine Football Association (AFA), Claudio Tapia, is required to appear in court. According to information from Derbyderbyderby.it, former players and federation employees avoided taxes amounting to 19 billion pesos (approximately 12 million euros) through a fraud scheme related to pension payments.
Additionally, there are suspicions that the federation may be involved in money laundering processes in financial operations. For this reason, changes to the championship schedule were deemed necessary.
