Analysis of the second goal episode for which Abduqodir Husanov is accused

In the UEFA Champions League Round of 16, "Real Madrid" defeated "Manchester City" 3:1 at home and advanced to the next stage with an aggregate score of 6:3. Kylian Mbappe scored three goals, becoming the main contributor to his team's success. The only goal for "Manchester City" was scored by Niko Gonzales in the 90+2 minute.
Below you can find the analysis of the episode of Abduqodir Husanov being accused of the 2nd goal.
- Initially, Ake and Gvardiol pressed high but could not take the ball from Bellingham and Rodri.
- Once the ball was passed to Vinicius, pay attention to the four players retreating – no one marked Rodri.
- Only Husanov was in the correct position: Ake moved up, closing his central position and staying close to Mbappe.
- When Vinicius passed the ball to Rodri, Husanov was left in a 2-on-1 situation. He had to step up to Rodri, forcing him to reduce his movement space. The pass only went through his legs.
- Gvardiol reached Mbappe and secured the situation as best as he could, but Mbappe deceived him.
Thus, the individual skill of Mbappe and Rodri prevailed. Both Gvardiol and Husanov did not make mistakes, but they found themselves in an uncomfortable position. If Husanov had completely neutralized the situation, it would have been a top-level defensive action, but not being able to do so is not a mistake.
