Spanish coach Frank Artiga commented on the financial difficulties faced by the Podmoskovye "Khimki" team. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
At 48 years old, he managed the team from June 2024 to April 2025. In an interview with "Match TV," Artiga said: "This is a very unfortunate situation.
All players, staff, and club representatives fought hard and suffered to keep 'Khimki' alive. We thought that when we stayed in the RPL, the club would resolve its financial issues." It should be noted that "Khimki" finished the last season of the Russian championship in 12th place and remained in the top league based on sporting principles.
However, due to a debt amounting to nearly one billion rubles, they were unable to obtain a license to participate in the next season. The new season of the Russian Premier League is scheduled to start on July 18.
