Safonov: The difference between Russian and French football is clear

Russian goalkeeper Matvey Safonov expressed his thoughts on the differences between the French championship and the Russian Premier League. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.

According to him, many teams in Russia are based on running faster than the opponent during the game. In France, however, more attention is paid to the game of football itself and playing with the ball.

Safonov emphasized this in the documentary titled "Western Tribune" on the Okko platform. Matvey Safonov transferred from the "Krasnodar" club to "PSG" in the summer of 2024.

He has played in 17 matches for his new team, conceding 13 goals, and has also managed to keep a clean sheet seven times. His current contract is set to last until 2029.

Transfermarkt experts estimate Safonov's market value at 20 million euros. This figure indicates that he is a high-level professional football player.
