The Torpedo team will not participate in the Russian Premier League next season. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
The Moscow club was punished for attempting to organize fixed matches. Famous footballer Yevgeny Lovchev expressed his opinion and shared his thoughts on how the next championship should proceed.
According to Lovchev, a 16th team should be added to the Russian Premier League. The former member of the Spartak team suggested that the regulations should determine who will take Torpedo's place after the team is removed from the championship.
He stated: "The regulations should specify whether Ural or Orenburg should take Torpedo's place. Such situations should be clearly outlined in the regulations, and it should be resolved through voting or other methods."
There are only eight days left until the start of the new season of the Russian championship. On July 18, Friday, the teams Dinamo and Baltika will play in the first round.
This championship is expected to generate great interest among fans with new teams and matches. Officials and experts are striving to ensure a fair and transparent competition this season.
