The Liverpool team has signed a contract with a new striker. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
In the near future, Ugo Ekitike may join the team led by Arne Slot. Ekitike is currently playing for Germany's Eintracht club.
According to journalist Fabrice Hawkins on social media, Liverpool has agreed on a six-season contract with Ekitike. The 23-year-old player only wants to play for the Merseyside team and has withdrawn from negotiations with Newcastle.
Additionally, according to a report by the BBC, Liverpool may finalize Ekitike's transfer by the upcoming weekend. Eintracht previously rejected a £70 million (81 million euros) offer from Newcastle.
Therefore, Liverpool's offer is expected to be higher than that. This transfer is expected to significantly strengthen the team's attacking line.
